Westernside Bungalows, Horton

Set on the outskirts of one of the most charming villages in Gower, the four modern double-glazed bungalows are part of a development of 38 bungalows spaced out in rural surroundings on a small private site. The site is 800 metres from the sandy beach of Horton, part of Port Eynon Bay on the Gower Peninsula, which is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. All the bungalows face south with the sea visible from the lounge. The bungalows are inspected and graded by the tourist board each year; our current grading is 3 stars.

ACCOMMODATION

There is a large L-shaped living room comprising comfortable lounge and modern kitchen/dining area. The lounge has a sofa, chair and television. The kitchen is equipped with fridge/freezer, electric cooker, microwave oven, kettle, toaster and all utensils, pans and crockery to Tourist Board standards.

The bathroom has a full sized bath, electric shower and shaver point. Bedroom 1 has a double bed and Bedroom 2 has two full-size single beds. Both have fitted wardrobes. Kitchen and bathroom apart, there are fitted carpets throughout. All bed linen and towels are provided.

Power is by electricity which is supplied at no extra charge. An immersion heater is fitted in a large airing cupboard. There are thermostatically-controlled heaters in the living room, each bedroom and the bathroom which give ample warmth whatever the time of year. A car parking space is marked and allotted to each bungalow. There are pleasant grassed areas for sitting or for children to play.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Within each bungalow we provide a folder containing local information (doctors, vets, shopping, etc), an Ordnance Survey map of Gower and loads of ideas for what to do, where to go, where to eat out and what’s on. There is a camping park next to the site which has an amenity block with coin-in-slot washing machines and dryers should you need them.

Horton is an unspoilt village with a lovely sandy beach, perfect for swimming, fishing, windsurfing, sunbathing & beachcombing. Gower offers beautiful coastal or countryside walks, surfing, golf, horse riding and sailing. At the village of Scurlage, the South Gower Sports Club has tennis, bowls and squash and there is an indoor pool at Gower Holiday Village. (Both operate from Easter to the end of October).
