Our two detached properties are
situated in the peaceful hamlet of Lunnon near Parkmill. Rose Cottage
is adjacent to The Granary and so there is the possibility that
the two properties may be booked by friends or groups.
Due to our central location, we are ideally positioned for Gower’s
beaches and country walks. Oxwich Bay can be reached by car in around
10-15 minutes. With the famous Three Cliffs Bay and Pennard Castle
only being a short 25-minute walk away it is an ideal base for surfing,
water sports and walking.
Swansea is just 9 miles away and can be easily accessed by car and
there is a once-a-day bus service available through Lunnon village.
The nearest shop is Shepherds in Parkmill (10 minute walk) and the
small village of Kittle which is a 10 minute car journey has a grocery
shop and a bakery. |

Rose Cottage is everything that you could hope for
when you imagine a romantic, stone farmhouse. It is set on a working
farm, in the hamlet of Lunnon, above Parkmill. Mentioned in the
1841 census as an Inn called "The Sovereign", I'm sure
that the cottage could tell a few tales, but more recently it was
the farmhouse of Sunnyside Farm. In the late 1990's the cottage
was completely refurbished and upgraded to provide 4* accommodation.
The cottage sleeps 6 people in three bedrooms on the first floor;
one double with ensuite shower room and two twin rooms. The twin
rooms share the main bathroom, which has a large Victorian roll
top cast iron bath, (that once collected rainwater for the farm’s
livestock to drink, but has now been fully restored!) Both bath/shower
rooms have electric shaver points. Bed linen is provided. Guests
can choose whether to provide their own towels or hire them for
a surcharge of £10. A cot and a highchair can be provided
on request. |
| On the ground floor, there is a fully fitted farmhouse
kitchen, complete with electric cooker, microwave, fridge freezer,
kettle, toaster and cafetiere. Tea towels are provided, as is a
rucksack, which is suitable for picnic use. A separate utility room
offers a washing machine and laundry facilities and access to a
third wc. |
 |
The dining room is simply, but effectively furnished with a table
and chairs and ornamental fireplace that compliment the exposed
beams and flagstone floor. The lounge has a colour television, video,
selection of videotapes suitable for children, a hi-fi, a three-piece
suite and an open log fire. If you wish to use the fire, logs will
be provided.
|
 |
The cottage has oil-fired central heating throughout
and pets are welcome by arrangement with and at the discretion of
the owners. A small fee will be charged per pet and owners must
adhere to the conditions imposed due to the fact that the cottage
is set on a working farm. The cottage has off-road parking and a
secure, level garden. |

| The Granary is a recently renovated two storey barn
conversion. The original barn dates back to the early 1800s and for
many years corn grown in the surrounding fields would have been stored
in the loft here at the farmstead of Great Lunnon Farm. |
| The Granary is located on a working beef cattle
farm and is a very spacious property which is fully equipped to
cater for six people.
The entrance hall leads into the large open kitchen area which
has a fully fitted kitchen with electric built-in cooker and hob,
microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The kitchen has plenty
of storage with floor and walls cupboards and table suitable for
family breakfast time. |
 |
| The utility room comprises of further storage cupboards
and houses the washing machine and central heating boiler. A small
drying cupboard leads from this room, ideal for drying wetsuits, coats
and walking boots. At the end of the day supper can be laid on the
large dining table at the further end of the room adjacent to the
French doors leading out on to the south facing patio area. After
supper relax in the sitting room with coloured TV and video player
or listen to music on the Hi-Fi. |
There is a bedroom on the ground floor which has
a wet room en-suite, WC, wash basin with shaving point, the area
is suitable for a person with poor mobility. |
 |
From the open plan kitchen a splendid ash staircase
rises up to the first floor where the landing leads to two further
bedrooms. The original beams have been retained in both double and
twin rooms and also the bath room which has a large shower, bath,
WC, wash basin with shaving point.
Back on the ground floor off the hall there is a cloakroom with third
WC. |
 |
| Bed linen, tea towels, a high chair and cot are
provided. Towels can be provided on request.
The cottage has off road parking and a secure level garden with
a large patio area at the back of the property.
